Shanmugham, Anuradha, MD, MPH
Anuradha Shanmugham, MD, MPH, is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician at Marshall Family & Internal Medicine in Cameron Park. She has nearly nine years of experience in providing outpatient primary care.
She completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Madras Medical College, a prestigious Medical school in India and subsequently earned her Master of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She continued her education by doing her Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Medicine and in 2007, as a graduating resident, she was awarded “Senior Resident of the Year” and also received the resident award for Professionalism.
Dr. Shanmugham joins Marshall after working previously in Carle Physician Group in Champaign, Illinois where she was actively involved in providing comprehensive outpatient primary care. Dr. Shanmugham’s clinical interest is mainly in preventive health care. She is very passionate about the topic of psychological impact in women who have undergone miscarriage, especially recurrent pregnancy loss. She has given a talk at the 3rd World Congress on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss in Madrid in 2018 about a simple psychosocial model called “ANGEL for ANGEL” that will help provide effective psychological support to these women.
Dr. Shanmugham is an avid traveler and would love to travel around the world. She is also very passionate about music and enjoys singing. She thoroughly enjoys being a mother to her daughter and loves to spend time with her.
