Massey, Alexander MD
Alexander Massey, MD has joined with Marshall Medical Center to form Marshall Pulmonology in Placerville. Dr. Massey is board certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine and provides a wide scope of care to his patients. A native of Rhode Island and raised in Connecticut, Dr. Massey moved to the West Coast in the 1980s and earned his medical degree from University of California at Davis. He then went on to specialize in and receive his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UC Davis Medical Center. He has been on staff with Marshall Medical Center since 1998. In that time, he has been very active in ensuring the excellent and life-saving care that the most critical and fragile patients at Marshall receive. He has been providing pulmonary care, critical care, and infectious disease treatment to patients. Dr. Massey serves in a number of capacities at Marshall Medical Center: Infection Control Committee Medical Director; Pulmonary Function Lab Medical Director; and Respiratory Care Program Director. He also joined Marshall’s Board of Directors in 2011. In addition to providing all aspects of pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. Massey also is an expert in many other diagnostic methods, including pulmonary function testing, flexible bronchoscopy, PET and CT scans, and others. In his leisure time, Dr. Massey enjoys mountain biking, gardening and skiing. He is married to an Internal Medicine physician, and they have two daughters. Dr. Massey is looking forward to working more closely with Marshall Cardiology, as he shares many of the same patients.
