Marshall Medical Center is pleased to offer our community advanced treatment for wounds that are difficult to heal. Whatever the cause of the problem wound— from diabetes complications, to pressure ulcers and burns— Marshall’s specially trained wound care experts can help you heal. Our center also provides ostomy care and is home to one of the few hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment (HBOT) programs in Northern California. What used to require an hour’s or more drive is now right here in El Dorado County.

Overview of Services:

  • Comprehensive and advanced wound care
  • Ostomy Care
  • Treatment of wounds associated with infection, pressure ulcers, cellulitis, surgery, cancer treatment damage, diabetes and other chronic conditions
  • Hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatment for severe wound problems resistant to healing

The oxygen in blood plays a major role in the body’s ability to heal. When a wounded area of the body is cut off from blood or oxygen, it can be difficult, even impossible, for the wound to heal without treatment. If left unattended, the wound could develop an infection.

HBOT utilizes an advanced technology chamber saturated with pure oxygen. Open wounds are exposed to high amounts of oxygen, stimulating cell growth and recovery. The patient experiences more rapid healing from these specialized conditions.

Wound Care and HBOT services require a physician referral to ensure the treatment options are appropriate for each patient. If you or a loved one has a problem wound that may benefit from specialized wound care, discuss this option with your physician.
